My Second Scout Camp Out On My Scout Track to Eagle

Where did we go? We drove for three and a half hours to get to The Harry S. Frazier scout reservation in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. By then it was late, so we set up our tents and went to sleep. I was tired, so I was happy to go to sleep. Saturday morning, after breakfast, we went to Mega Quest which is in the Louisville Mega Cavern. Who came along? Most of the troop came. Some of my friends from my old pack were there. The scout master and a few other adults were also there. Dad, just got back from Germany, and was sick. So he didn’t make this campout.  What did we see? We saw some wild turnips. We saw some frogs too. There also was a huge lake behind our campsite. When we went to the cavern we Did not get to go in deep but we did get to see deep in to the cave. What did we eat? We ate chocolate pancakes (I did not really get any chocolate pancakes it was all gone by the time the food plate was passed to me) and sausages for breakfast. Then for lunch we had a ham, turkey, or peanut butter and jelly with two packs of chips. For dinner we had grilled ham and cheese. For breakfast the next morning we had bacon and cream cheese bagels. How was the weather? The weather was really good for a camp out. It was a little cold in the morning. In the afternoon it felt like it was the warmest weather this year (not burr!). What did I like the most? I liked the mega quest the most. I liked mega quest because I am a natural monkey! I think the second best was the 3 mile hike we went on. The hike was going around the big lake behind our campsite. What did I like the least? I liked having stitches in my finger the least (ow)! Because of the stitches I could not climb as well as normal at the mega quest. I also could not help unpack and pack the trailer as well.  What did I learn that will help me on future campouts? I learned that I Should not get stitches in my finger the day before the campout starts (ow again!). I also learned a few map symbols like the foot bridge, railroad, and splitting trail Related articles Indoor Campout Minnesota Boy Scout halfway to goal of sleeping outside for an entire year Paddling the Black Water – GPS Campout
